Royal Endorsement, Political Mobilisation Take Centre Stage as Igbara-Oke Reaffirms Support for Tinubu
In a powerful convergence of tradition, political goodwill and community solidarity, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), on Saturday, September 5, 2026, paid royal homage to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, Ilufemiloye, Ogidi III, Paramount Ruler and Prescribed Authority, Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, during the historic Orikadun International Festival.
The Minister, who was unable to attend the colourful cultural gathering personally, was ably represented by Pastor Olumide Obadele, Director-General of Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT), who led members of the organisation’s Central Working Committee (CWC) to the epoch-making celebration.
Also present was Tobi Felix Ogunleye, Esq., Coordinator of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), Ifedore, alongside other members of AMG, who equally paid homage to the revered monarch.
The participation of the two prominent pro-Tinubu support organisations—PNT and AMG, both sponsored by Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo—added a strong political dimension to an event steeped in culture, heritage and communal identity.
“I Am Proud to Be a Son of Igbara-Oke” — BTO
Delivering the goodwill message of the Minister, Pastor Olumide Obadele conveyed BTO’s deep affection and unwavering identification with the people and traditional institution of Igbara-Oke.
According to the message, the Minister expressed his pride and happiness in identifying himself as one of the sons of the Olowa and the Igbara-Oke Kingdom, stressing that the people should henceforth see him not merely as a public office holder, but as one of their own.
The Minister also called on the people of Igbara-Oke to throw their weight behind the re-election bid of His Excellency, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He further charged the people to play a decisive role in the political mobilisation aimed at delivering over one million votes from Ondo State for President Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections, emphasising that Igbara-Oke must occupy a pivotal position in achieving that objective.
Olowa Gives Royal Assurance of Support for Tinubu
Responding to the delegation, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the delegation for the gesture of respect and royal homage.
The monarch assured the delegation that Igbara-Oke would support and vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections, while offering prayers for the President’s success and victory.
The revered monarch also showered prayers upon Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, asking God to grant the Minister the desires of his heart and continue to elevate him in his service to the nation and his people.
In a particularly significant royal declaration, the Olowa reaffirmed that BTO is his son, further stating that after His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Executive Governor of Ondo State, it is the turn of Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The statement immediately resonated as a powerful expression of royal confidence and goodwill towards the Minister, further elevating the political significance of the occasion.
Tradition Meets Political Momentum
The historic appearance of BTO’s representatives at the Orikadun International Festival underscored the growing intersection between cultural diplomacy, traditional institutions and political mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
For Igbara-Oke, the event was more than a festival. It became a moment of royal recognition, political affirmation and renewed communal solidarity, with the Olowa’s palace serving as a symbolic meeting point between heritage and contemporary political leadership.
With the royal endorsement and renewed call for support for President Tinubu, the message from Igbara-Oke was unmistakable: the kingdom intends to play a consequential role in the political future of Ondo State and Nigeria.
As the drums of culture reverberated across the ancient kingdom, another political drumbeat was equally unmistakable—the mobilisation for the Tinubu presidency and the rising political stature of Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO).
