NIGERIA’S OMA OSELE WINS MISS CONTINENTAL WORLD 2026 IN THAILAND

Nigeria has recorded another achievement on the international beauty pageant stage as its representative, Oma Iruomachukwu Osele, emerged winner of the Miss Continental World 2026 pageant held in Thailand. Osele clinched the prestigious crown at the grand finale in Ayutthaya on October 9, 2026, triumphing over contestants from different countries. India’s Shreeya Panda finished as the first runner-up. The victory has brought renewed attention to Nigeria’s participation in international beauty competitions and its representation on the global stage.

Beyond winning the overall crown, Osele also secured the Queen of Africa title and the Best National Attire award, recognising her performance and cultural presentation during the competition. She had earlier won the World Premiere Award in September after topping a global fan-voting exercise on Eventista’s 1Vote platform. Osele represented Nigeria through the EliteGlam Nigeria pageant organisation.

Her achievement recalls Nigeria’s historic success in international beauty pageants, particularly that of Bianca Onoh-Ojukwu, who won the Miss Intercontinental title in 1989 at the age of 22. Bianca’s victory remains a notable milestone in Nigeria’s pageant history, and Osele’s latest accomplishment adds another chapter to the country’s record of international recognition.

Nigeria also recorded an achievement in the male category, as its representative, Unwana Sambo Essien, finished third runner-up at the Mister Continental World 2026 competition. Essien also received the King of Kings title and the Best National Attire award.

The performances of both Nigerian representatives have highlighted the country’s cultural heritage and presence at the international pageant. Osele’s emergence as Miss Continental World 2026 provides another opportunity to celebrate Nigerian talent, confidence and cultural identity while inspiring young people to pursue opportunities on the global stage.
