The First Lady of Ondo State, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa has urged women in the State to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
She made the appealed during the inauguration of Ondo State executives for Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB) held at the Dome, in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The event which was organised by a women-led grassroots mobilisation platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) brought together women and other political stakeholders from across the state, with the aim of championing the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid.Mrs Aiyedatiwa, who described the torch as symbolic, added that it was a way of igniting a flame of purpose and advancing the noble idea that defines the Tinubu administration.Her words: “It is with deep honor and an unwavering sense of duty that I welcome you all to this momentous occasion, the official inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB) Ondo State Chapter.
Today, we are not merely launching an initiative; we are igniting a flame of purpose, patriotism, and progress. This gathering symbolizes our collective resolve to champion visionary leadership, strengthen democratic values, and advance the noble ideals that define the Tinubu Torch Bearers Initiative, unity, empowerment, and service to humanity.”The Tinubu Torch Bearers Initiative stands as a symbol of light and progress. It embodies the ideals of service, patriotism, and empowerment.
Its aim is to mobilize citizens across Nigeria, women, youth, and community leaders, to become active participants in nation-building. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, while commending President Tinubu for his Renewed Hope Initiative which is helping women across the country financially also thanked Senator Remi Tinubu for her love for women and the vulnerable in the country.Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Deputy, Mr Olayide Adelami, urged the TTB executives in the state to work assiduously with other women to mobilise support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming election.He said: “Today is about mobilising citizens, especially women, for President Tinubu. It is about sensitising the people more about President Tinubu’s achievements and the need to return him in the 2027 election.“You should go to the interiors and tell people about the achievements of President Tinubu in the areas of education, the economy, health, agriculture and infrastructural development, among others.
“For us in Ondo State, we are declaring the state for President Tinubu in the next election, and we want women to support us to achieve our aim of voting en masse for President Tinubu.”Earlier, the National Women Leader of the APC, who also doubles as the National Coordinator of Tinubu TTB, Mrs Alile Ideye, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for recognising the importance of women in the state.
She also commended Senator Remi Tinubu for her remarkable commitment to Nigerian women by prioritising the welfare of women, especially vulnerable women, in the country.Mrs Alile, who described President Tinubu as a caring father, commended him for his Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which she noted had been impacting women positively across the country.She said: “President Tinubu has been doing well to uplift citizens. In the areas of health, loans for students, rehabilitation and the fixing of major roads, agriculture, among others, his efforts are visible across the states.“This is not the time to sit down. I am urging women to take the torch to the grassroots and preach the gospel of Tinubu’s continuity to everyone for progress and more benefits.”In her goodwill message, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo State, Dr Seun Osamaye, appreciated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for giving women positions of leadership.While urging women to come out en masse and vote for the APC in the forthcoming election, she added that women are now enjoying the dividends of democracy under the present administration at both the state and national levels.
She stressed that the only way to reciprocate the gesture was to vote for the party in 2027.In her opening remarks, the APC Women Leader in Ondo State, Princess Erelu Oluwayemisi Iji, thanked Senator Remi Tinubu for her love and commitment to women, whose generosity, she said, was being felt across the state. She urged Ondo State women to continue supporting President Tinubu for continuity and to enjoy more benefits.
