The deputy governor of Ondo State, Dr Olayide Adelami, has announced plans to fully fund the establishment of a music department in the Ondo State School for the Visually Impaired, Owo.
Dr Adelami made this disclosure while on a familiarization visit to the school on Monday.Speaking with students and staff of the institution, the deputy governor commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the timely release of grants, which has helped in the running of the school.
He explained that his decision to sponsor the establishment of the music department in his private capacity was driven by his passion for skills acquisition and empowerment of children with special needs.”Equipping visually impaired students with musical and vocational skills would not only boost their confidence, but also prepare them to become self-reliant and productive members of society.” the deputy Governor emphasized.Commending the management of the institution for the cleanliness of the premises and facilities, Adelami assured them of his continued support towards initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and learning environment of the students.
